Acute suppurative thyroiditis is a rare disease because thyroid gland is highly resistant to infection. The most common predisposing factor is the presence of a piriform fistula. We report an unusual case of hyperthyroidism caused by AST.A 27-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because she presented a painful swelling in the left thyroid gland with fevers. Laboratory test showed a white leukocyte count of 14 000/μl, a CRP level of 251 mg/l, ...

A 56 years old woman was admitted to an intensive Care Unit for generalized seizure seven days following total thyroidectomy for toxic multinodular goiter. Thyroidectomy included self transplantation of a right parathyroid gland. Pathologic analysis confirmed benign multinodular goiter, without parathyroid tissue. Post operatively, on LT4 therapy, follow up symptoms included facial paresthesia associated to mild hypocalcaemia (1.56 mmol/l) at day 2, treated with ora...

On admission, the patient presented with a 7 cm firm mass, regularly growing for 2 months, adherent to the cervical skin, highly suggestive of thyro...

Adrenocortical sarcoma is an extremly rare tumour associated with a quite pejorative evolution. We report the case of a fifty-eight years old woman presenting a chronic asthenia and acute flank pain. She had no hypertension, no clinical sign of virilization or hypercorticism. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed an 8 centimeters mass above the right kidney. CT scan aspect evoked an adrenal carcinoma embolizing vena cava. Hormonal assays did not reveale any inappropriate secretion...
